Check out some of our favorite photos from their golden hour engagement session, below: ![]() Shannon & Ashok will be getting married next month on October 8 th at the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch and we couldn’t be more excited for their big day. During their entire engagement session, Shannon had such a genuine smile on her face that you can literally feel her true happiness through their engagement photos. Shannon & Ashok’s dog, Montana, made a return appearance to Washington Park for the engagement session as Shannon brought Montana with her to meet Ashok on their first date. Washington Park is not only where Shannon & Ashok’s engagement session was held, but actually where they had their first date! It is a memorable place for them as that’s where their love story began. Shannon & Ashok’s golden hour engagement session was photographed at Washington Park in Denver, CO, by our Rockstar Associate, Julie Timmer. Frances was able to capture the beautiful Rocky Mountains, the lake, the sandy shore, walking paths, and you guessed it… the golden sunshine! Frances loves backlighting during her photo shoots and she used the sunlight during the golden hour to backlight Stacey and Gideon, perfectly! Frances was even able to capture the moon before the sun set during this golden hour engagement session! If you love Stacey and Gideon’s engagement photos as much as we do, we have no doubt that you’ll love their photos from their January 2016 wedding at the Grand Hyatt in Denver. Standley Lake is such a great location to take photographs at because of the many scenes the location offers. FP Owner, Frances Marron photographed Stacey & Gideon’s engagement session during the golden hour at Standley Lake in Westminster, CO. Stacey & Gideon are one of the funniest, cute, and quirky couples that we’ve had the honor to work with. Here are a few of our FP couples whose engagement sessions were shot at the golden hour and we absolutely are in love with how they turned out: During Colorado summers, this is typically between 7:00pm-8:00pm, just before sunset. For this reason, Frances Photography schedules most of our engagement sessions during the golden hour. Similarly, our clients seek to have their photos taken at the golden hour because of the magical, natural, sunlit, photos that can be captured, leading right into sunset. However, like many other Colorado photographers, if given the choice, Frances Photography would choose to shoot at the golden hour as opposed to any other time of the day. The Frances Photography Team are pros in all different lighting situations and have mastered working with even the harshest Colorado sunshine. The Colorado sunshine can be extremely difficult to work with and a photographer must know how to adapt to even the most difficult lighting situations. In Colorado, the sun can be bright and blinding resulting in squinty subjects and can cast crazy shadows. Dew or hoarfrost, which appear at the junction of day and night with the strongest temperature drop, will also help you take a beautiful picture.Golden Hour Sunset Photography Denver: In photography, the “golden hour” or magic hour is the hour right after sunrise or an hour-ish right before sunset. Therefore, the same angle sometimes looks more advantageous in the morning, and sometimes in the evening. In the morning and in the evening, objects are illuminated from different directions and can look completely different. Blue hour can be caught in the evening just after sunset or in the morning before sunrise, thanks to Rayleigh scattering. The "blue hour" or "blue hour" in photography refers to the period of time when the sun is hidden below the horizon and the sky gently scatters sunlight, giving all objects a deep blue tint. ![]() The term "hour" is, of course, used figuratively. Golden hour in photography is the period of the day before sunset or just after sunrise when the shadows become longer and less contrasting the sun's rays, passing through the atmosphere, lose intensity and become softer and the color of the objects takes on a pleasant reddish or golden hue.
